On May 19, 2008 the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA was proud to announce the winners of its 3rd Annual Safety Award. NECA is the voice of the $100 billion electrical construction industry responsible for bringing lighting, power and communications to buildings and communities across the United States. NECA’s national office and 120 local chapters advance the electrical contracting industry through advocacy, education, research, and standards development. NECA celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2001. Penn-Del-Jersey is one of the largest and most successful Chapters within NECA, representing about 200 companies who perform electrical construction and related work in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
Battaglia Electric, Inc. was a winner in the Chapter’s over 500,000 labor hours category. Battaglia Electric has been in business for 26 years.
Some of Battaglia’s major projects that were completed in 2007 include: Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse, northeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Harrington Raceway and Casino Expansion Project in Harrington, Delaware, Honeywell Data Central Project, New Castle, Delaware and Christiana Hospital Expansion Project in Newark, Delaware.
Battaglia Electric has received numerous safety excellence awards over the years. In October, 2006 Battaglia received the Delaware Department of Labor Award for an injury free environment on the Christiana Hospital Expansion Project. Wilmington, Delaware, February 7, 2004 - Battaglia Electric, Inc., a Delaware-based electric contractor, announces the formation of Battaglia Integrated Technologies (BIT).
In addition to general electrical contracting services, BIT now offers the added capabilities of installation and maintenance of structured cabling and low voltage systems to small and large commercial and industrial clients.
Structured cabling and low voltage systems are a set of cabling and connectivity products that integrate voice, data, and various management systems of a building
(such as safety alarms, security access, energy systems, etc.) Potential business applications include everything from call centers to fiber optics and wireless
solutions.
Battaglia Electric, Inc., a full-service electrical contractor, has completed numerous projects on low voltage systems for such clients as AstraZeneca, Conective,
MBNA, and Motiva to name a few. "The integration of both divisions will offer clients a seamless, comprehensive, and integrated network infrastructure from the
planning to completion stages of a project," says B. Eugene Battaglia, President of Battaglia Electric, Inc.
Named to head the new venture is Christopher Schwab. He has more than 20 years experience coordinating commercial and industrial projects with specific expertise in Structured Cabling Systems.
"Christopher brings many years of experience from the telecommunications industry. His knowledge and expertise will broaden the company’s capabilities in this area,"
said Battaglia. Mr. Schwab's experience and training with Verizon Communications and Arose, Inc. of Bellmawr, N.J., gave him the opportunity to direct the
installation of structured cabling systems on such projects as the 2000 Republican National Convention, the New Castle County Courthouse, and Union Hospital of
Cecil County's outpatient expansion Project.
